I just read American Jesus: Chosen by Mark Millar. Anyone know if there are or will be follow ups to it?
If you haven't read it, I can recommend giving it a read.

It follows the second coming of Christ in 1980s America.

Millar said it's the first lf a trilogy, no idea when the rest is planned though. Probably around the time of the movie.

Gah. I hate the Millar does that. Kick Ass dragged on to coincide with the movie, doubtless Nemesis will too.

    I was being sarcastic ;-)

The Kick Ass movie was started pretty much the same time as the comic, same with Wanted. And Nemesis is being slightly delayed due to McNiven having a kidney stone or something. I don't think any of them being late is intentional, just a coincidence.

Er, no, it was hardly like the comic at all. Still a fun film though.

Chosen is being made into a film - with Matthew Vaughan directing again I believe. I BELIEVE!! (Little Jesus joke there)

The rights to Wanted and the script started after only issue #1 had been released, which is why the film differs so much, as Millar hadn't written the rest. Don't forget, films can take 3 of 4 years to produce and make.

Same with Kick Ass, but because he had a more of a "hands on" with that film he could discuss his ideas for the rest of the comic and thus the film is a lot closer to the comic than Wanted was.

The rest of Chosen will probably be written when Millar has the time, he seems to spend a few years earning his keep at Marvel, then a year or two of creator owned stuff, then back to Marvel and so on.

    The loom of a fate.

    That's all I'm saying.
