  1.
What am I after? Thanks for asking!:

    7 PSYCHOPATHS #2
A big thank you to all at OKComics who made the free signed print from Sean Philips available with issue one! Thank you! The comic it came with was okay too, so I’ll have the second issue as well.

    AMERICAN VAMPIRE #4
I’m finding the art on this flappers, cowboys and vampires series rather dapper all in all. The plot is pretty good but, by golly, it sure is moving apace! I’m finding it hard to guess where it will be a year from now. I think this is the last issue where Stephen King does his Stephen King thing. He’s been a pleasant surprise in the scripting department (altho’ he does have past form with the Creepshow adaptation. Ayuh.) but Scott Snyder’s performance has been strong enough for me to stick around for his solo show.

BATMAN RETURN OF BRUCE WAYNE #3
Time tossed Bruce Wayne finds himself washed up on the shore of adventure! And why, be that Blackbeard hisself! I can’t remember who’s drawing this issue (crosses fingers and prays it isn’t Tan or Daniel) but I’m sure Grant Morrison will continue to entertain me with his batty bat-shenanigans.

BILLY BATSON AND THE MAGIC OF SHAZAM #17
Mike Norton’s pretty neat on this. Is he a new guy or have I missed his apprenticeship? He’s good. This is a kid’s comic though. Yes, they still makes those.

    GARTH ENNIS BATTLEFIELDS #7
WW2! The Russian Front! Probably ends badly for everyone. Except the reader, because me and Garth Ennis’ ouvre may have our differences but I can’t fault his war stories.

    JOE THE BARBARIAN #6
Dang! This here is one purty comical periodical!

SEA BEAR & GRIZZLY SHARK #1
What? Probably the closest I’ll ever get to my childhood dream of a Hook Jaw vs. Shako comic. Also, I really like the straightforward stoopid of the tag line “Sea Bear and Grizzly Shark - they got mixed up!”

    WOLVERINE WEAPON X #14
The Alpha and Omega of action entertainment! It’s got the ying and the yang of clever and dumb coming out of its ying yang. What happens when the unstoppable force meets the immoveable object? Why does the caged bird sing? How many miles must a man walk? Is it still wrong if no one knows you did it? Who first decided to call The Earth “the earth”? And how come everyone just agreed to it? Absolutely none of these questions are answered in Jason Aaron And Ron Garney’s Theatre of Sheer Awesome Presents- Wolverine: Weapon X.

However. Stuff blows up big time! See Wolverine DIE! Hear Spider-Man actually be funny again! See The Bland Avengers get their clocks cleaned off-panel! See a comic with action, characterisation, humour, drama and a plot with all the grace and delicacy of a Stuka dive bombing your face. This issue: Wolverine vs. Deathlok with glowing green claws! Deathlok! Don’t bother planning for the future because Deathlok! just punched its throat out. Jason Aaron bringing the thunder – monthly!
