Neptune By Aron Nels Steinke. This may have come out last year, but I've only just read it. What a smashing 'all ages' graphic novel. Erika tells the rest of her class about the time that she had to rescue her dog from a flood. But she must be making it up, surely it's too far fetched.
Motel Art Improvement Service By Jason Little. Bee is an 18 year old girl about to embark on a transcontinental bike ride. She's going to see America from the road, and if she looses her virginity in the process that's just a bonus. But her bicycle is damaged on day one. Reluctant to go straight home with her tail between her legs, Bee stays over night in a nearby motel. There she meets Cyrus a talented artist, working as a chamber maid, who 'borrows' bland paintings from hotel rooms, improves them and puts them back. The two hit it off, and move on to another hotel where Cyrus's obsession with paintings, and stealing guests drugs, leads them to an adventure involving drug dealers, sexual experimentation and cycling... Great fun.
