  1.
Hi guys, I've started to get a few reviews online for the first issue of my independent comic Mythos, which is of course available from OK Comics, take a look if you're interested. They've been very positive and encouraging so far, which is great. Issue 2 is in the works, and hopefully due out end of November, start of December.

    Thanks

    Stephen

Did you go to university and study english lit or anything like that? Is swan comics your own company or did you send your stuff off to them? sorry if this feels like 20 questions, i'm just interested.
  3.
I did go to university but I didn't study english, it was something far far LESS interesting. Swan Comics is something that I've set up (with Eddie Butler the artist) as a playground for Mythos and any other ideas I come up with. It's also a good banner to have things under and I can use it try to build a small brand.

Incidentally, a new review is due fairly soon for Issue 1, and Issue 2 is done, and has gone off to the printers. So with luck it should be ready for end of November, start of December.

So you basically produced it yourself? That's impressive. Where do you send it to get printed?

    Hiya,

Yeah, it's just me and Eddie, he draws it, I write it and do everything else. We decided to go for a US printer as the comic is in a standard comic format (24 pages and normal size) so it can be sold, in theory, in any comic shop here or abroad. We use ComixPress (www.comixpress.com), who also sell it on their site, so if someone buys it in the USA, ComixPress print it and send it out for me. In the UK people get can it direct from me via our website (www.swancomics.tk), or just walk into OK Comics and pick up a copy.

There are other printers who do the same kind of thing, Lulu, and Kablam is another, both US based again. UK printers tend to be more expensive for small quantities, the unit cost will come down if you get a larger quantity, but of course you aren't guaranteed to sell them all and it's a bigger outlay. It's cheaper for now, to go with a US printer.

Issue 2 is moving along nicely, and should be ready for the end of November or start of December.

Below are links to the first five pages of issue 2. It contains some spoilers if you've not read Issue 1. Issue 1 is available to buy now from the the Mythos Website at http://www.swancomics.tk and from OK Comics.
