In the interests of lightening things up a bit anybody interested in a bit of a quiz? If OKMan has no complaints I'll set a question a week about comics from any era. There's no prizes unless someone wants to keep a tally chart, but hopefully everybody will join in.

And I'll make the first one easy ~ (and X in no way should this be construed as baiting) NAME THE FIRST APPEARANCE OF ROGUE.

Well, I kinda guessed at this one in the shop today after you chatted to OK & Spinface, and I think it's right, though Jared could have been pulling my leg.
Is it the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles?

I used to read the collected books of the old series over and over as a wee kid, with guest stars like Cerebus the Aardvark, but I was wondering if a sneaky Daredevil was ever thrown in the backgrounds? that would have been great!

    erm...it was all a dream?
  7.
Well Popbot's right (even if he did cheat slightly). The canister that hit Murdock, bounced and smashed a fish bowl that a child was carrying. Both the canister and the contents of the bowl (4 young turtles) fell into a sewer where the canister split open causing the turtles to mutate into a independent comics boom. Don't believe me, pick up a copy of the reprint of the first four issues.

Next question. Which recurring X-Men character also made their debut at the same time as Rogue? (And Popbot if you heard the answer in the shop to this one please sit it out).

WOW!!! So the origin of Daredevil is intertwined with that of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles?? I never knew.

I was a massive tutles fan. Tho I was into the cartoon and movies more then the comics.

So was turtles in the Marvel world? Was there any cross overs? Did we see the Technodrome in the Marvel world??
  18.
There was never a crossover or tie in with the Marvel Universe. Eastman & Laird cleverly just took the incident related in Daredevil 1 and used it as a springboard for their own characters and universe.

seen onlya bit of the new cartoon series though. i wasn't keen on it, very "too cool for school", they all look the same, with the same voices and having white eyes?? whats up with that??

Tinker was the old funny one, Chris was the young funny one ... Lovejoy was the accidentally funny, promiscuous, middle aged one - with a bad doo.

Lovejoy was great, i wanted to own an antiques trade for ages after that, based purely on the fact that i would get quirky funny friends and beautiful women hanging around me. For some reason i became a web developer and have quirky/nerdy guys and NO women hanging around me. D'oh!

I love Sexy Beast, one of my favorite movies about an argument.
And McShane isn't homosexual in the film. It alludes to the fact that he slept with one man, once, to gain information.
    "What are you Staring at?"
    "The back of your head"
"Well, stare at the back of your own head".

Lovejoy is not gay. Not that there's anything wrong with that X.

No I wasn't saying Lovejoy was gay and nor is there owt wrong with it.

However, in Sexy Beast in th enear beginning of the film when they are talking about Black Magic (McShane) is at a swingers party and there are people shaggign all over., this older man sits near him and asks what he is into and then Black Magic gives him a look and says oh of course its..(or that the dialouge could be the other way round I am not sure) and then it cuts to Black Mgaic getting done from behind.

Plus in interviews about it they ask McShane what it wa slike playing a gay gangster and he never says "oh he's not gay". Tho he could be bisexual I guess.

I think you'll find that he was at that "swingers party" (it just looked like any regular party to me) to meet and influence contacts for his heist.
And McShanes character is called Teddy. Where've you got this Black Magic from?
Anyway, it's Ben Kingsley who steals the movie. His excuse for getting off the plane is awesome to the max. One of the best scenes in a movie ever...
