i havent the brains to draw my own characters. I tend to draw the Marvel characters from the comic on A2, ink them and then modify them at the painting stage.
I look at a range of comic artists and classic painters then try merge the two styles, which is damn hard! Its what i was taught at Art college.

The one i am doing now is like Gaugin`s Tahitian women meets...hmmm i am aiming for Joe Lisner. I love his work.
I cant draw panels to save my life!!

There were two chaps stood behind me at the signing on Thursday who were discussing the comic they were working on. One of the had panel breakdowns with him. Maybe OKMan can clue us in?
  2.
im on a working progress at the mo of creating a comic, however im not the artist but a humble writer of short parody storys but still need to fill two pages before i can start to do the scripting

I had a plan to make my own personal comic, which was basically going to have this underlining issue of race, good and evil, morals, politics and religion etc. Being a D&D and Sci-fi fan it was going to have magic and spaceships in it. I'd planned major events and characters in the story, including factions, organisations, locations. I've got loads of conceptual drawings and sketches everywhere, with characters, buildings, items, ships, species.

Then I realised I wasn't really used to drawing within a comic style with an action packed scenery, I'm only really good with pinup drawings where there's no background. But now I might start it up again for fun (and for practice). Admittenly I would've pulled apart some inspiration from other sources, but I'm sure some sociologist or psychologist will agree that we all created things from things we've experienced anyway.

id like to write i mean im more of a clay my drawings gud but whenever i see a new font cover or an amazing piece of artwork i always think tht i cant draw owt like tht.

    cool.

I can't draw for toffee but after chatting to sean phillips at the signing I think I would liek to write for comics.

Gotta pratice at woring for comics thouhg, rather then prose as its 2 different ways of doing things. When I do, he did suggest looking up artists to draw up the scripts I work on to make a comic so I may do that.

Its the Wolverine Weapon X one from ages ago. It takes me AGES to read through my weekly shop!

All my birthday/xmas prsents are comic related, so it looks like I am buying them! Family wont go near the shop because apparantely I am too old for comics. Pfff!!

Aye my nan gives me grief about reading comics to.

My mum understands tho interestingly enough.

I think my xmas presents will be non comic related unless I get money to buy them myself.

Those two guys in the queue talking about his own comic last Thursday, that was me and Eddie, who is the artist. I was the tall one who was very out of breath. I'd just ran from my car as I thought I was going to miss it.

We've got the first issue of our indy comic out in the shops, and we're talking about issue 3. Issue 2 just went to the printers and should be out with luck end of November, start of December. It's called Mythos, and you can get it in OK Comics.
