I dont agree with what she said about Cyclops. He is a cool guy and just coz he isn't a cheat and a player doesn't mean he is boring.

Sounds like the kinda girl who will go with a guy on his looks and image alone, even when he has a bad rep, treats her badly and cheats and then cry and whine when he does cheat but then when she is with a nice guy, ditch him coz she says he is "boring"

    shocking stuff.

Cyke IS boring. He's meant to be boring. He's the character everyone loves to dislike but really would totally miss because of the rod-of-iron-up-his-arse attitude that winds his team mates up.

But yes, shocking stuff. Walkin, why don't you write one on the sexiest female superheroes?

hahaha true. Rogue would be number 1, but for the rest is very tricky. I mean do you go obvious and say Emma Frost, coz she is very sexy but she is meant to be and is always in very little clothing so it makes you think sexy or do you go for more covered heroines and is it comic sor movie versions?

    decisions, decisions.

Cyke has to be restrained coz of his powers. He can blow a hole through a mountain, maybe even more then that. You have that kind of power in the hands or eyes of a nuuter, a careless hero or some wild man and you got a disaster on your hands. I just think there is more to his charcter then being the up tight leader. Its deepr then just another good looking, wise cracking tough guy that gets churned out all the time.

  1.
But hey, it looks like in Astonishing X-Men Cyclops might get some control over his powers.

Personally I don't like Iceman and think sometimes he's been bit of wanker over the past few story arcs in X-Men, though he seems alright in the most recent ones.

Also what about Luke Cage and Sentry?
(Jonny Storm, Reed Richards, Ben Grimm, Deadpool, Cable)

Maybe we should make our own more comprehensive list.

Yeah! Going on looks is soooooo shallow Ren! :) So Cable's fists are bigger than his head, its unfair to say he doesn't have a sexy personality. Personally i don't think he is either tho! But how about Batman?! He's sexy isn't he ... in a kind of moody, can't get close for toffee way?

Top sexiest heroines? I'm sorry Rogue probably wouldn't make it ... Mystique would tho, possibly.
  2.
Lovable Ben Grimm "common"? Fie on you ma'am! I prefer to call him "earthy" or "street-wise". Common, indeed.
  3.
Even if you don't find Mystique attractive, she can change into someone you do find attractive.

Also I didn't realise people would take it seriously as I added those names, I was just saying they left out quite a few people from the line up, like Punisher, Daredevil or Iron Fist for example.

'So is like the Thing's, like whole body, including his ^^ made of rock?'
Feel free to correct me I tried paraphrasing the quote instead.

Hey Batman IS sexy. And need i remind you that he is not superhuman, a mutant, an alien or a cybernetic lifeform either. He's a man. So, he may not have abs of steel, a punch that could shatter the jaw of an elephant, the power of the sun oozing uncontrollably from his eyes, or knives where his forearm's bones should be, but he IS cool. And cool is sexy. At least I hope it is. Or is uncool now sexy? Damn it. No no, I can make that work. And if I could afford the mortgage on that size of cave, i probably would.

Of course on the other side, you are right. He does live with a much younger man who wears tights and a tunic out of choice ...

However, when you think about it
a subliminal message is one of those
things that might be fiction - like
    ewoks.

    Reading between the lines,
one of the things that's involved is a
genuine wish to believe that the
unconscious mind is more powerful -
    even than the conscious mind.

Oh come on, it's so obvious...

OK, I'll give you a clue (but not the answer!)

    * Take the third-to-last letter of each word in Digby's message.
    * For each letter, give it a value where A=1, B=2 etc..
    * Group the letters in twos, add together and convert to hexadecimal
    http://www.tonymarston.net/php-mysql/converter.php
    * Now group these values in twos and add together again.
    * Convert back to decimal, use mod 26 so that you end up within the alphabet
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Modulo
    * Reconvert from values back to letters and there's your message!

Now that's hardly brain surgery, is it?

I always just feel like I'm watching a bad, watered down, mum and dad, TV version of Se7en.
But at least the leaps of logic in Se7en aren't contrived and impossible. Some of the CSI technology they use doesn't even exist outside of science fiction.
If Horatio took his sunglasses into a crime scene the case would be thrown out of court because of contaminated evidence. Those same glasses have been to every other crime scene in south Florida....

Miami has Horatio with his sunglasses and one-liners and New York has Mac who just kicks ass when they try to get in his face, though Vegas has Grisom's little bits of trivia and philosophical quotes.

Though they do stretch the scientific forensics a fair bit it's not supposed to taken seriously. Like come on, on CSI the CSI's do all of the work and the detectives are basically tag alongs who finish up the paperwork. Also notice how they casually walk on to the scene in their casual clothes. All in all though I'm still somewhat glued to it.

Also does anyone else find that their one-liners before the opening credits often seem a tad offense/inappropiate along the lines of black comedy.

    •

    • CommentTimeNov 27th 2006

Criminal Intent is probably one of the better L&O spin-offs. Vincent D'Onofrio is a criminal profiler, and they lie and fabricate evidence to coerce a confession out of whoever ends up in the hot seat. Not that it's put quite like that, but clearly no-one would get convicted based on how they get the evidence.

It is very good if you enjoy watching a battle of wits though.

The original Law and Order is good too, half the programme is wisecracking detectives hunting the criminal, then the second half is courtroom drama as they take them to trial. I used to watch most of them on and off, it's probably one of my favourites.

Top cop show billing goes to the Shield, but that's not really in the Police Procedural (it's a real term! Check wiki-fiddlia!) mould like CSI.

Did you ever see that edition of Screen Burn where they showed an episode of The Bill to a load of americans? They all thought it had been made up to try and fool them...
