In Civil War issue 1 all the heroes gather at the Baxter Buliding for a meeting about the upcoming superhero (all one word) registration legislation. And guess who's there? Daredevil. But isn't Matt Murdoch in prison? So who's dressed up and running around Manhattan rooftops and fooling a roomfull of DD's friends and allies?

    Who is the new Daredevil?

There will be a prize for the correct answer and a prize for the best wrong answer. The more detail you go into the better chance you have of winning. We haven't worked out what the prize will be yet, but it'll probably be Avengers or Daredevil related. The deadline is whenever Marvel decide to reveal who the imposter is.

    So, c'mon.
    Who is Daredevil?

    What do I know....?
  1.
i think its foggy nelson im sure hes already been resurected by the hand and is bound to have been sent to infultrate the superheroes inciting more war in the ranks because marvel loves obvious twists. also he already knew were dd costumes and props are and he no doubt has used them when matts sleeping one or more of his female "associates"

think it over you know its true

    I reckon its either:

A: Ronin cause she likes dressing up like a bloke

B: Daredevils long lost brother who has been tapped by Prof X to help Matt while hes in prison. Unfotunatley as soon as things go south, Prof X will wipe his and our minds, so they have something to write about in 30 years. See X-men: Deadly genesis
  2.
All the superheroes take turns dressing up as DD. They're on a rotor. Cause every once and a while you feel the need to beat the crap out of your enemies into a messy pulp, without all the nasty publicity.

It's all good though, cause DD's publicity is already bad. When everyone speaks to him though, they're trying to keep up the act, so no one suspects that really Captain America's being dressing up as Daredevil beating the hell out of crims on his weekends. In the Baxter building though it was Aunt May, sometimes she goes out and deals out elderly justice.

ok, its Hawkeye, he never died but got scrwed over in that whol Scarlett Wich going nuts, was gonna come back as himself but for reaosn unknown, decided to come back as Daredevil...

    Or......

Anothe rclone of Spiderman, who else could copy the high flying natics of daredveil but spiderman, except spider man is spider man so its a clone, who doesnt wanna take over as spider man and then get killed by the undedad again Green Goblin. Unless it is Spiderman, playing both sides..

    Or....

Its Ben Affleck!!! In the Marvel World, Affleck exists and has followed Daredevil as a kid, now with his hero locked away he still belives in the red devil and decides to take up the mantle himself.

Maybe in a call across the worlds, the equivlant to Daredevil heres the cry of anguish from his comrade and asnwering that call, knowing there needs to be a man in red whipping around Hell's Kitchen, he answers the call........Its Batman!!

Crossing over to Marvel world, he decides its good to have a change of colour and loses the fecking cape that gets caught in doors all the time, he escapes the gay rumours of him and robin, and decides to be Daredevil. He gets to be a vigilante, he gets to be scary and he gets to be known as a ladies man.

And if Bats is still kocking aorund in DC world, well, night time in DC is day in Marvel and vice versa, so he gets to patrol both nights of both worls, not sleeping, making him even more psychotic then he his.

    That would be cool.

OK, here's the thing: everyone wants to be on Captain America's side. I do, you do. Everyone who walks through OK Comics' doors does. And Iron Man's being a right old c**t about the whole thing. BUT: really, think about it. Some guy in a creepy mask chucks a guy through a building because he's wearing his old evil suit and you're just supposed to be OK about it cos you've been told he's a "bad guy". On Saturday I saw a kid nearly get thrown through the Ann Summers window before he got pulled off, would that be OK if this kid put on a mask then told me the other one was a "bad guy"?

The main reasoning against is it infringes on civil liberties. Civil liberty to beat people up whilst wearing a mask? It's a tradition. So's shooting Scots from the York city wall with a bow and arrow on a Sunday.... well, OK. But so's the monarchy! How many OK customers are in favor of that?

So I guess my point is that; whilst you can suspend disbelief and accept a government allowing people with the power to flatten mountains run around in masks, non-registration is fine. But once the issue's raised it's head I think it might be the only side that makes sense.

    So that's that.

i think it's more of a fact of shield hunting down of ANYONE with superpowers which makes everyone side with C.America, they register or don't, they don't get to hang their spandex.

It's probably funny that they're going go to greater lengths to arrest all the opposing superheros compared to all the supervillains still roaming.

It's all about government control. The US government want to bring in a piece of legislation to give them more control over the random factors in society. Conveniantly, there's a massive, fatal tragedy which shifts public oppinion and makes the legislation easier to implement.
So now suspected terrorists can be held indefinately, without trial or legal representation. Three of them killed themselves this week after 4 years imprisonment.
Is this going to happen to members of the X-men, Avengers, Fantastic Four etc if they don't want to sign up.
As far as I'm aware Captain America doesn't actually oppose the registration act, he just doesn't want to be the one to enforce it. And I can understand that. He's fought long and hard for his country's freedom.
There are two kinds of freedom. Freedom from and freedom to. And it's a balancing act. One person can't be free to do whatever they want as they may want to persecute somebody else, and that somebody else has got to be free from persecution.
I personally can't see how getting all the superheroes names and other details on a list would have prevented the catastophe in Stamford, Connecticut; in just the same way that tightening security at US airports wont stop terrorists who really want to blow stuff up.
Whose side should we be on? I don't know.

Aren't the government wanting a register of th eheros with all their real names, full indentitys, place orf residence etc??

Isn't that the big problem here, coz while we know there identites, and some are publically known, not all are and if any of the super villains hacks in, breaks in, steals any of the info on this registration then they have the full identity of the heros, so they can strike at will whenever they want or get to tthe hero by going through family and lovers.

Seeing as the government gets hacked into repeatedly in the marvel world, by villains and heros alike...its not exactly safe for them so thats why they oppose it?

But as Aunt May points out in the most recent Amazing Spider-man (back in stock tomorrow) it's not just superhero's families who are at risk. Police officers, judges, lawyers etc, and they don't hide behind masks...

yeah but Judges, Lawyers and polic men rarely take on super powered villains with the resouces to destroy you, your family and the world.

Well You do see police have a go but how many times do they shoot some1 that can reflect bullets and other such moronic actions?

Plus its a fame thing I guess. I mean no 1 is asking for the autograph of Officer Joe Bloggs but the heros??

they are celebraties and vracy obessed fans could interfere in their work or their private time...

Also the police etc choose their jobs and aren't we meant to belive it isn't a coice for superheros? Its duty, its "great responsibility" that makes them do what they do and their families didn't ask for that and nor did they, but they do it any way to protect the people that don't wear masks...

But isn't the mask and the costume part of the deterrant to the villain or thief. Take away the secret identity and there's no need for the mask and/or costume, and therefore no fear or doubt in the mind of the protagonist

Super heroes are there to protect the city and its Civilians. So why should they register?? Some mutants are dangerous but not all. The humans dont see it like that.

I am with Wolverine on this one - as ever!! To hell with everyone else and what they think and turn it into a personal Vendetta. Nitro triggered that explosion, which was out of order.
    Great minds think alike :)

I don't think the heroes are being made to go public, just give up their names to the government. And yeah, the database could get hacked or whatever, but any supervillain with two braincells to rub together can follow a superhero home. Plus, isn't Spidey pretty much the only superhero worth mentioning in the Marvel universe that still has a secret identity?

I wouldn't come out in favor of everyone with powers registering, but a guy that wants to use his powers to kick the crap out of other people? Dunno. Probably. And I don't think it's just about having names and addresses, they want to give new heroes training, which makes sense.

That said, most government superheroes seem to be dickheads.
