JM ~ save me a copy of this please. According to the news that the wife & kids heard today people will be queueing outside comic shops to ensure that they get a copy. Frightening.
You know I thought the wife & kids were winding me up at first but this type of fan/collector hysteria is something I have never come across in comics before. I didn't think that King was that popular these days. Admittedly the Dark Tower series is probably the best thing he's done since Misery, but his books don't seem to sell that well (and I base that on the stock of remainder booksellers).
And bearing in mind we had a discussion going on some time ago about single issue sales I'm really going to be interested to see Diamond's declared shipping totals for this thing
I reckon the collection will sell masses when it gets into bookstores if the stores themselves market it properly. it seems (in the US at least) King still sells extremly well. (And I've seen a lot of "popular" stuff on those cheapy bookshops over here, so he may sell better than we think).
To be honest, I've never read a single one of his books. I may check this out though cos I love Jae Lee's art and Peter David ussually scribbles together a good story.
This actually turned into a far better comic than I expected, with quality art and scripting. A good adaptation (it's the tale Roland tells in Wizard And Glass).
