I'm starting to have a clear out, so if it's ok with the guys in the shop I shall offer these here and drop them off in the shop if anyone wants anything. Not much brilliant stuff I'm afraid, but I'd recommend trying a few issues of XIII or Bone and then buying the trades :-)
And remember kids the only way to follow the adventures of your favourite forgetful foreigner is to start picking up the marvel trades of XIII as sadly the company producing the singles went bust
i would very much like Spider-man 2099 #36 (i already have the other stuff - why the h*ck has it not been collected by Marvel. i'd even buy the full run in Essential black and white format)
the TMNT would also be nice, but i'd be willing to sacrifice that for one of my fellow amphibi-fans.
i bought the first XIII tpb, not read it yet. a friend gave me his copy of the PS2 game, and i can't play it now in case it spoils the ending. woe.
all will be sorted and will be in the shop waiting for you all next week soemtime :-)
I don't think the game of XIII gives away the ending (havent finished it myself yet), because the comic itself hasnt finished yet (I think the last two books come out this year in France). Although I may be wrong and it is possible that the comics did wrap up the main plot before the game came out and have followed a different story since.
hahahahaha try reading Strangehaven, there hasnt been a new issue for about 2 years!
Most French (ok, so XIII is Belgian but it counts!) comics come out once a year, nice big hardback books, I was REALLY hoping DB/Marvel would print them in the same format. The game follows the plot of the first five books, which would have been the first ten issues had Alias carried on releasing it in the standard American format. The Marvel trade collects Books 1-3.
Van Hamme is stopping writing the book later this year with Book 18, with no new writer announced. An extra book is out this year, Volume 19 drawn by a certain Msr Moebius.
And just to show how different comic culture is in France than it is here, they once had a special French National Lottery tied in to promote XIII.
