Here are a few recent recomendations...

Have you been reading Marvels Civil War? It's the hottest comic at the moment and certainly my favorite superhero series.

Scott Pilgrim is a series of Canadian graphic novels about a 23 year old guy who's in a band and dating a high school girl. Then when he meets a new girl he's got to dump his old girlfriend and fight the new girls seven evil exboyfriends. He's also awesome at kung fu. I read this book at the insistance of one of my customers, and promptly made all the staff read it, we've been recommending it to everyone and it's become one of our best sellers.

If you haven't already tried it you should give Walking Dead a try. It's kind of a post apocalypse / zombie series, but it's more interetsing than that. It's a great character driven survival story. Great.

There are four great new series from Vertigo. If you're already reading Loveless and DMZ maybe you should check out Exterminators and American Virgin.
Exterminators is about bug-killers using a new insect spray, but there's a deeper story to it. it kind of hints at conspiracy and has ancient Egyptian connections, really interesting.
American Virgin is about a teenage christian tv evangelist who's decided to wait until he's married but at the end of the first issue his girlfriend dies and he's got to go claim her headless body from africa while questioning his faith. I've never read a comic remotely like this before. Awesome.

We've got the first three issues in stock now. And issue 4 should be out this week.
Walking Dead is indeed awesome. And anybody wanting to give it a try can pick it for £6.99 cheap.

Bah! You tried to get me to read Scott Pilgrim for months, it was FCBD that did it. God bless free comics!!!

If you want a little peak of Scott Pilgrim check out Bryan Lee O'Malley's site, it's got a wee promo web comic.

Scott Pilgrim is one of the best comics I've read in along time, it's like YOUR own life crossed with YOUR own warped imagination of what the world would be like if comic and computer game style madness really happened.
Are you 20something, live in a crappy rented house, have delusions of grandeuer about the band you and your mates started,do you need a haircut? Do you need to fight your new girlfriends' 7 evil ex-boyfriends before you can officially date her? Do you want to know the recipe for vegan shepherd's pie? then Scott Pilgrim is for you!

I've been on the image comics website and they've got online comics like marvel but easier to read. I definately will get the walking dead graphic novelcos it looks amazing, and theres a few others that look good.
  2.
Try the Annihilation mini-series particularly the Silver Surfer run. And if you missed the recent Planet Hulk storyline, shame on you. Five different Marvel titles which may have slipped under the radar with all the focus currently on the evolving Civil War storylines.
