I just saw the face of God move across my TV screen. God. Or Adam West. Your choice.
Batman BBC4 7:30 on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
It's amazing. I can't decide what was best, Jill St John's nose, Adam West hissownself, the dialogue, or every d*mn thing about it. Batman danced The Batusi and said "You interest me. Strangely." I swooned. Holy Timeless Quality, Batman! Why can't the comics be like this? Why can't I live in that world? Did anyone else watch it?
Yep! Sad thing is I've got the entire, complete series, all hundred and something episodes on DVD. TV just isn't as much fun these days.
Have you ever read the Adam West biography (Back To The Batcave)? Or better still the Burt Ward one that sheds a different light on the things that they used to get up to off camera?
That's not sad that's awesome! In about 18 years when I get some free time I too will get the complete Batman TV series. Although it will probably be in pill form by then.
I do, however, have the Batman '60s Movie on DVD and I will inflict it upon my spawn as soon as possible. Best. Batman. Film. Ever.
How do you get time to watch/read/listen to everything, raise a family, be a loving partner, hold down a responsible job and be OKComicsman's consigliere? I truly believe you are the next stage in human evolution.
I have read neither of those books but now you have reminded me of their existence I will hit Abebooks and track them down. they were very naughty boys off-screen I hear.
West better have handed Bale his lily white @ss on a plate. Or I demand a re-match.
In tonights episode Jill St John was dressed as Robin. (No comment.) BUT it then got freaky beyond belief when she wore a robin mask and Burt Ward had to act like Jill St John acting like Burt Ward. With Jill St John's voice dubbed over the top. Crazy, man. Crazy. I dare not sleep for fear of what dreams may come. Brrr.
It was nice to see though that Batman didn't let the small fact of having a woman falling into his nuclear reactor prey on his mind too much, and was able to help Dick with his algebra.
Oh, Julie Newmar! Her of the 37" legs. Sorry Midnighter but if they show 2 episodes a week (and in order) you'll have to wait until episodes 19 & 20 until "The Purr-Fect Crime".
