Awesome! I'm new to the whole comics shindig having only bought a few... but i'm well eager as this could be a great way to get my collection kick started!
So.. should i get to the shop early, and is there a limit on how many comics one can have... and are there any payments or registrations to fill in? Also... what are the comics that are being given away? I'm presuming they're old lines or something like that...?
Each of the main comic publishers put out a comic which represents what they do. We pile them high and give them away while stocks last. We encourage people to take as many as they want but only take ones they're actually WANT, not just take free stuff for the sake of it. We do recommend that if you want a particular comic you should come early, as we often run out. There's no signing on fee. No cost to the customer at all actually. Here's a full list of what's going to be available... http://www.freecomicbookday.com/the_comics.asp
i've booked the 1st thru to the 3rd off. its not every year you turn 25 in the same weekend as an Iron Man release movie and international comic book day
It's not my birthday, but with an EC Sampler (Toth! Kurtzman! Wood! O! My heartses!!!), a Steve Rude Moth comic and a Greg Land drawn X-Men fiasco, it's sure gonna feel like it! Have you seen the cover to Land's X-Mammaries? I do not want to know what he photo-referenced for Wolverstein. I surely do not.
Shop guys... don't suppose you feel like giving away the Ultimates 1 or Ultimate X-Men #5 - #10 tbp's do you? The wife is curbing my spending after i bought over £50 worth this week alone :(
(I have now copyrighted and trademarked Occam's Razor and am now looking for a totally XXXXXXXtreeeeme! artist to bring my artistic vision to life. Howard, come back, Howard!
"How long have you been drawing comics?" I'm still laughing.
And LC ~ If Kent is moseying along for the 5th birthday bash does he want a copy of the Kirby collector 49 (wraparound Thor cover Ordway inks). Read it and finished with.
