Saturday 3rd May is Free Comic Book Day at OK Comics. As usual we'll have thousands of comics to give away for as long as stocks last.
    Get in early.

Awesome! I'm new to the whole comics shindig having only bought a few... but i'm well eager as this could be a great way to get my collection kick started!

So.. should i get to the shop early, and is there a limit on how many comics one can have... and are there any payments or registrations to fill in? Also... what are the comics that are being given away? I'm presuming they're old lines or something like that...?

Each of the main comic publishers put out a comic which represents what they do. We pile them high and give them away while stocks last. We encourage people to take as many as they want but only take ones they're actually WANT, not just take free stuff for the sake of it.
We do recommend that if you want a particular comic you should come early, as we often run out.
There's no signing on fee. No cost to the customer at all actually.
Here's a full list of what's going to be available...

i've booked the 1st thru to the 3rd off. its not every year you turn 25 in the same weekend as an Iron Man release movie and international comic book day
  1.
It's not my birthday, but with an EC Sampler (Toth! Kurtzman! Wood! O! My heartses!!!), a Steve Rude Moth comic and a Greg Land drawn X-Men fiasco, it's sure gonna feel like it!
Have you seen the cover to Land's X-Mammaries? I do not want to know what he photo-referenced for Wolverstein. I surely do not.

If your wife's curbing your spending, just get a different wife.

Careful waving that Occam's Razor around OKComicsman! Someone's gonna get hurt. (Or divorced).

Was he the Wolverine looking character in Rob Liefelds Blood Death (Image comics, 1993)?
  3.
I can't find mention of any such thing on his Wikipedia page. But have you seen the picture of him on there? Dude! I want to chug a brewski witchyoo!

    I did find this :

    http://progressiveboink.com/archive/robliefeld.html
Which is free and about comics, so is technically appropriate to this thread.

(I have now copyrighted and trademarked Occam's Razor and am now looking for a totally XXXXXXXtreeeeme! artist to bring my artistic vision to life. Howard, come back, Howard!

Hey LC ~ are you going to be in town for this soiree?
  5.
Alas, alack, no. No EC Sampler for me then.

I will however be dispatching my alter ego Kent Allard to the 5th Birthday Celebration. Stock up now on rotten fruit!

Will the NTster be there? Or is he building Dreamscapes of the Mind elsewhere in Albion?
  6.
Hopefully I should be there for both of these.

God bless Youtube. Liefeld is about 2 minutes in.
"Rob, do you have any formal art training?"
  8.
"How long have you been drawing comics?" I'm still laughing.

And LC ~ If Kent is moseying along for the 5th birthday bash does he want a copy of the Kirby collector 49 (wraparound Thor cover Ordway inks). Read it and finished with.
  9.
Kent is always happy to grab a freebie. No shame, that man, noshame. Hmmm. Jerry Ordway, the classy classicist. Cheers, sir!
