For those true fans of OK Comics, you will completely understand my enthusiasm for one man, one man alone... This man has accomplished so much in his life, some may say he is even up there with the greatest of the deity. A modern 'Thor' as such.
As I say his name aloud I picture a glowing roar of sunshine beaming through a small and insignificant window, seemingly blindly daubing its effects around until landing upon one hero's glistening head. Everyone around will drop to their knees in admiration for such a man (yes, he is only human), but one hell of a human at that.
My user name within this little corner of the great digital and information highway is simply a tribute to the man I speak so highly of. For those of you who aren't one hundred percent with me yet, the man I speak of is Jared Myland, the owner and proprieter of the greatest place on Earth... OK "God Damn" Comics!!!
Trust me I am not Jared, he works under the alias 'OK Comics'. I am a young and impressionable boy. I wake up every morning cold, and beating my pillow after realising my dreams of being Jared were simply that... Dreams.
Then Mr. Punk, I believe we can be friends. Sharing jests til our sides feel the need for medical assistance, a few stitches I believe the joke goes.
So explain to me, that is only if you feel you can. When was it you first met the great, wonderful and beautiful Jared Myland? Also, what were you're initial impressions, were they like mine? Did you feel like you had been rescued from this vehement and inferior world, and almost uplifted to a higher plain?
Also, for anyone interested (after reading this tribute) I have well over two hundred photos of Jared I would be willing to sell, and on the odd occasion swap for something of value. Around ninety percent of the pictures are taken from a distance, but are still of superb quality. The latter ten percent of 'Up Close and Personal' as I like to call the album are somewhat blurred as they were taken with a tiny concealed camera. The best of my collection within the album 'Partial Nudity' (I am afraid to say) are not for sale. I went to great lengths to aqcuire this small collection.
My first impression (which I shall assume will be collected with others and published in a slim volume one day) was that he was a chap with a cracking shop. And he's kind enough to send me my comics to Spain. So, yes a Prince amongst geeks.
I don't recall the experience being as ethereal as the one you describe. However, it's possible my mind toned it down so as not to cause some kind of short circuit or malfunction.
