Music Zone are selling the "Evening With Kevin Smith" DVD cheap. Well worth the price of admission although I'm not too sure if the Region 2 disc has the same easter eggs as the region 1 version.
Of course that big KS fan JM will already have bought it.

I just saw the preview featurette for Passion of the Clerks. It looks great. I hadn't realised how much I'd missed Randall and Dante.

Apparently the new movie got a fairly lengthy standing ovation at Cannes. And yeah, it does look good.

I still think the whole thing is hilarious - now if they'd only release it as an audio CD. Evening II is due out this year.

Anyone lucky enough to get Edinburgh film fest tickets for both Clerks 2 + the 90 min QA session with the man himself? I tried but failed...... all tickets sold old within the hour. Damn those over excited fan boys/girls.

The third "Evening With" has just been released as a Region 1 set. Having watched a hour (out of the five hours it boasts) so far the Clerks II trailer is the funniest thing on it.

Are these "Evening Withs..." any good? I'm currently reading My Boring-Ass Life (which is oddly compelling). Has anyone seen Jersey Girl?

I've got the first two Evening With DVDs and they are both great, especially the comments about Tim Burton and the story of the Superman movie. I started reading My Boring Ass Life last week but got a bit bored of it, will dive into it again when I'm in the mood.

And, in case the above wasn't enough to show how much of a fan I am, I own Jersey Girl... AND I LIKE IT! it's not at all like his other stuff and it's nice to see him able to do something that isn't full of dick and fart jokes. J-Lo dies in the first 5 minutes, Affleck screams in a small childs face and Will Smith isn't annoying. The other hour and a half isn't bad either ;-)

In my opinion Jersey Girl rates as one of Smith's better films and is thematically & stylistically different from the rest of his oeuvre, and ultimately more accessible. Maybe that's why it bombed.

But Lee if you're going to buy any of the sets buy the first, the second only if you can get it cheap, and avoid the third.

i had no idea a third was coming out. the second wasnt as good as the first, and to me its obvious why; the first was a compilation of the best bits of a whole tour, they had 10+ shows to pick and choose from to make him look good. the second DVD was two of his shows in their entirety. not to mention that anyone who saw his first dvd and then asked a question at his later shows has less potential questions to choose, and Kev can't re-use any of the old anecdotes.
