Great read, some interesting things popping up there.
"Jared Myland: Most film and TV magazines have comic book review sections in them. That's good. It means people who aren't necessarily interested in comics are exposed to intelligent reviews of them. TV coverage of comics always seems to slip back a few decades and portray them as a juvenile pass time. Pow! Blam!"
Last night on Film 2008 there was a decent 5 minute section about how Marvel are ploughing forward with films and DC seem a bit lost and left behind. As expected from a comic fan like Ross it was handled with respect and maturity and was genuinely interesting to both comic fans and film fans. Sadly towards the end the old "POW" and "BLAM" graphics flashed up on the screen a few times, which I put down to the editing crew rather than Ross himself, I hope he gave them a good telling off for it!
never mind the treatments of the comics medium in the mainstream media, what about the treatment of Jared in the mainstream media? anyone else see the editing job they did on him on look north many years ago...
