I will be shortly starting to write my own comic book story ... well not exactly "Book" more like "Web Comic" that will hopefully keep my busy from now untill the day we all evolve into a new magical race that rides though space ont he back of penguins singing polka songs and playing WOW on some kind of hand held device/VR unit.
I was just wondering if anyone else had attempted this feat and if so, how successful were you?
I think webcomics are a really good idea. They're the new small press, but can hit a much larger audience with less cost to the creator. Just wanted to say that.
I've sent a short story off to a British fanzine, Future Quake. Stilll not heard if they'll take it, i impressed myself with it so i hope they do take it.
I've just this week started to script an original idea that i want to prepare and pimp out to publishers next year. I'm not naive about my chances, its hard for a complete unknown to sell an idea straight away, but i want to try all the same.
shame i cant draw tho.
do u know what u wanna write about?
you might find the Digital Webbing Creator forums useful:
Tried writing and drawing one, but it got tiresome drawing and redrawing, as i was always unhappy as how it looked. But that was a while ago.
If your not looking to make money out of it, you should just try to make it a relaxing creative experience, otherwise you'll end up getting bored or frustrated with it and ditch it.
Yes Clemfold I do know what I wan't to write about, it's an idea I have been playing around with for about four years I think ... it was some time at college anyways. The idea has changed alot as have the characters infact I have pretty much spent the last year and a half re-designing them to something I like and can easily repeat.
You're right Shadow, for now I'm just wanting to do it for my own personal reasons really, plus I don't know if I could cash in on my babies ... It just feels wrong to me.
Thanks for the comments guys I'll be sure to remeber you all in my will!
