Same here, love it. I've got all the separate issues and figuring out what order some things go in can be a bit of a pain, so reading them in the collected volumes should make for a much richer story (I presume they are collected in a specific order).
cheers mike. Yeah they are in order, in 4 books midnighter, that must have been hard getting all the seperate issues, and expensive. The art does look good Lee, especially the way magneto and sabretooths drawn.
don`t tell me the ending please!! i`ve only got part 4 pinned down at the minute, no one wants to sell these ey, and they weigh a tonne so shipping is dear. Hopefully i`ll get the other 3 tomorrow. This sorta started about the time i stopped reading comics, so i figured i`d go back till then and catch up again. i dont know any characters since about 96, except DC ones from the encyclopedia, although most of them are from the 50`s.
I have the entire Age Of Apocalypse, and also the New Age of Apocalypse, if your a die hard X-Men fan it is a MUST OWN!!! One of the biggest storylines to happen, right up there with The Dark Pheonix Saga. Also has repercussions later on, Dark Beast! Blink!
i would have thought so yes, but that means going to one in london which is a 4.80 return, it would be cheaper to pay postage. Plus i could read the first one while waiting for it to turn up, still not comfortable pulling out an x-men comic on the district line. And if i read it now and can`t find one my alcohol/everything else soaked mind will forget it by the time i get the second one. Don`t you have a copy? There is others i want as well, like dc generations 1, and more but i can`t think of at present.
I'm not sure really but i usually catch the west ham crowd on my way back from london saturday, its only half hour but it`s through the east end, think that could be classed as the "London below" Oh and Identity crisis is another one im after, that does not really come up for sale much, i`ve got the follow up sitting here but don`t wanna read it until afterwards. Does anyone have a list of graphic novels they have for sale? If you can post it with prices or even a web site that sells second hand graphic novels, i don't really see point in buying new ones as i plan on reading them and keeping them, so condition is not too important as long as the pages ain`t falling out or nothing, although the Age of appocalypse i`d like a nice one of because the other 3 are in great condition and if i do decide to flog em one day would probably do it as a set.I`ve got two new ones i bought in the january sale at amazon, left em still in the wrapping seems a shame to open them, if i see second hand ones cheap somwhere i`ll get em and keep them two wrapped. I`ve also got quite a few im willing to trade, mostly independant types, because i`ve sorta gone of them now and back into superheroes.
theres a follow up to Identity Crisis? if ya not bothered about quality id suggest, ebay ofcourse, but amazons good for people selling stuff, just checked it now and you can get it fot about £10. If you made a really gd offer I might be persauded to letgo of mine, which I really shouldn't cause I need the basis for something, and should do a review of it first... anyone interested in DC: One Million...
Identity Crisis! Again! There's still no call for that, Smiggy3000! Identity Crisis! A sequel yet! What's That called Identity Crisis 2: Electric Rape-aloo? DC: One Million is okay though.
what have I said now? you never even asked what I had against it, I only said the end reveal was bad, or unbelieveable, any one else want to know what was in that crate?
Gwyneth Paltrow's head? Brad Meltzer's phantom talent? What crate? I didn't know you had anything against it I thought you liked it! What are you doing confuserizing me!?
well what did you mean by theres still no call for that?, someone shouted at me for not liking who did the deeds so-to-speak. And that crate at the beggining that Bolt was about to collect before that awsome dual narrative style scene, which would have looked so cool on film...
Sorry, I wasn't shouting at you! I quite literally meant there is no call for Identity Crisis. It's that terrible. There's no call for it. And it's still terrible, so there's still no call for it. Identity Crisis that is. Terrible.
A lot of the cheaper books on amazon come from american book places, they only charge 2.75 postage but some has taken 5 weeks to get to me, it happens to a lot of people, check their feedbacks. So did you want to sell yours then i didn`t really know what you meant basis of what? The follow up one is called crisis of conscience, not sure if thats spelt right. It`s 126 pages but was only 3.50 postage so though might as well get it and wait for identity crisis to come up, do you have any more books you want to sell or swap? I`d like some DC vertigo graphic novels aswell. i will do swaps in your favour as i need some new reads. Did you not like it lamont, some of the dc graphic novels stories are great but the whole plot is just overcomplicated, univereses are always unravelling and stuff, no one just wants to take over the world no more.
I have some odd stuff that I got cheap from various places, ill have to go list them, but I've mostley only got individualy issues for most stuff cause it's been cheaper and easier for some stuff that hasn't been collected yet, my mainstream marvel even collection are all indivisual issues cause not everything was collected in tpb's, same for my Comics Greatest World collection, both of these are unfinished since Marel has had too many events since Avengers Dissasembled... tis an odd plan to collect mainstream individuallly, then most other thingds with trades, like the Ultimate Universe, Buffy 8, Angel, theres way too much stuff out there, like everything Transformers... actually I have very little TPB's...
Maybe i`ve got some comics you would like to trade for i only pick up actual comic comics to trade or sell to get money for TPB`s. I`ve got the few that i kept back when i sold my comic collection years ago all the best ones, avengers 1, sub mariner 1, FF 55, avengers 57, that sort of things but only got about 12 like that don`t think i`ll ever sell them ones. Do you like independant comics? love and rockets, crumb, black hole that sort of thing
if you're only paying amazon's maximum of £2.75 for postage on books from US sellers, i'm not suprised they are taking up to 5 weeks! if i was a seller and sending abroad, i would be using the cheapest form of postal service if the maximum i am able to charge on books is £2.75 (which it is on amazon - they suggest you build in any postage cost to your selling price if the item is either heavier or requiring a courier service thats more expensive than standard mail - but that then affects your ability to sell the item!). Using a courier like UPS ensures an item gets to an overseas buyer quickly, but that can cost far more than item is sold for, thus negating any incentive for a private and/or business seller to sell in the first place as they then make a loss on the item.
and smiggy, lamont's posts are frequently amusing critiques on comics- he's not having a personal dig at you or your reading choices!
I would not mind the 5 weeks if i knew in advance, but my point was that i would like the book now, i was not complaining. Plus some pose as english sellers. As well as that they just put them in a plastic bag, so hard covers tend to get there corners dented. If i use an american website to buy a graphic novel they try and charge $18.00 postage. It`s one extreme to the other.
Have bought a few off Amazon and they tend to come in good condition if you buy new, the used on the other hand are definately used!!! Wanders, don't forget to get the New Age of Apocalypse and the X-ternals.
