    That, then!
  1.
There is a Classic Alpha Flight Vol.1 by John Byrne. I think it's called....Alpha Flight: Back To Basics! hawawawawawa! Okay it isn't but there is such a volume. I may own it.

Showcase Presents: Arak Son Of Thunder!
    Showcase Presents: All-Star Squadron
    Showcase Presents: First Issue Special
Showcase Presents: Rex The Wonder Dog
    Showcase Presents: Jonah Hex Vol.2
Showcase Presents: The Unknown soldier Vol.2
    Showcase Presents: Weird War Tales
Showcase Presents: All those Gil Kane Superman/Action Comics stories and covers from the '80s that I missed.
Showcase Presents: Everything by Gil Kane Ever Vol. 1 to 500.

    Okay, DC? Now do it!

    Oh yeah and:
Essential 2001: A Space Odyssey by Jack Kirby. But in Absolute size and in full colour!
Essential Machine Man by Kirby and Ditko
Essential All Those Short Tales By Kirby And Ditko Involving Moogarriii: The Mop That Danced Like A Girl and All That Other Quirktastic twist In The Tail Stuff Marvel comics Were Full Of Before Superheroes Came Along.

    Not going to happen.
  2.
Wasn't the quirktastic stuff released as Marvel Monsterworks a few years ago?

And how about Essential Not Brand Echh? Or Showcase Presents Plop?
  3.
"Not going to happen." Who are you? The Grand Poobah of DC? The Great Panjandrum of Detective Comics Comics marketing? You just broke my dreams like Bane broke Batman's spine! "Broken!" I hope you are proud. Printing Showcase Presents: Rex The Wonder Dog would be like printing money!

Was Marvel Monsterworks the one with the Simonson cover? That was a good start but there's acres of 'em. And not just Jethrow: The Gorilla That Rollerskated Into Paris stuff. All those "...but the genie was his wife!", "...and no one was left to see the blanket quietly laugh!" all that sub-O. Henry stuff. I believe they are available in overpriced h/cs but y'know,if I'd known that a few decades earlier earlier I'd have tried harder at life. Cheap reprints, it is then!

Not Brand Ecch and Plop! Oh, yairs!

What about the new warriors, thought that was good considering it was full of failed heroes, the leader was a bit of a bore though, nightthrasher or something i think. When did they stop that, think they was still coming out when i stopped collecting comics, which was about 96 ish
  4.
Essential Ka-Zar! With Zabu The Sabre Toothed Wonder.
No really, first up there's all his early stuff then you've got the unjustly neglected Bruce Jones and Brent Anderson run. Quality gear. To me, Zabu! Now, bite his face off! Good boy!

    Essential Black Panther!
Wakanda! T'Challa!Oh yes! Not the Kirby stuff because you should all buy that in those 2 colour TPBs. But all the stuff after by MacGregor (?) and Kane etc. I don't know because I haven't read it for decades. I think it was in Marvel Jungle Action Featuring The Black Panther. Actually that sounds like something from the company that brought you Housewives at Play. But it isn't.
  5.
I would like Essential Ghost Rider vol 4. This volume will have the Dematteis run in and marked a return to some kind of narrative thread after 50 odd issues of faffing about in the desert.

I would have preferred the Ketch stuff in this format, rather than having to pay the same price for 10 issue colour collection reprints, but c'est la vie.

Also: If the Essentials and Showcase volumes ever get up to the 1990s, wont the art look empty with all the computer wizardry done with the colouring stripped out.
  6.
Rest easy, Captain Si, if the Essentials and Showcases get into the 90's it would be cheaper to buy the issues themselves and have them gathered in bespoke binding by a master craftsman.
I'll stress for those unfamiliar with comic values comedy that this is not because the Showcase and Essentials are expensive but because that's how much 90's comics are worth. Nowt. In monetary terms. In artistic terms they are the very Waters of Life!

Not sure f anyone is from london but notting hill book exchange gives a good trade rate for 90`s comics, just aslong as you dont trade em for more nineties
