Am I alone in not liking the direction the Doom Patrol took when it became...was it a vertigo title?I loved the first fifteen or so issues of the 80's series but then thought it got really silly.I guess i'm an old fogey and just like the brotherhood of evil and garguax, and the guy with the longest name in comics Animal Vegetable Mineral Man.Just finished reading the Doom Patrol vol 1 of Showcase Presents which i thought was very good.
  1.
Yes, you are alone, I just checked with everyone everywhere from the dawn of time to the end of time.
Shhh! I'm joking! There's nothing wrong with any Doom Patrol. How can you not love The Beardhunter? Monsieur Mallah and his love for that brain in a jar? Danny The Street? Flex Mentallo? Ec. Etc. Grant Morrison's Doom Patrol - very sweet to the taste! Or do you mean the Rachael Pollack stuff. I didn't read that. Couldn't afford to, that's all, no offence Ms.Pollack.

Even though I haven't read every version, the Doom Patrol are so swelegant I am sure all versions have something to offer. I am however reading the current incarnation, which is more than most people. And I bought the John Byrne re-vamp (I think it was called Doom Patrol: Back To Basics!), now who's alone? Me.

I need that Showcase Presents: Doom Patrol like ham needs eggs.

    Dooooooooooooooooooom Paaaaaaaaaaatrooooooooool!
